The Kids' Haven Wall, located in our 12th Street windows, has not vanished! The Wall will be restored as soon as our volunteer window elves can get back to the project. Keep watching for a wonderful new look for spring!

Since Kids' Haven no longer hosts Eggstravaganza in the spring, we have a great abundance of plastic eggs, appropriate for filling for an egg hunt. Please call the Kids' Haven office (845-4072) if your organization, church, or school might be able to use the eggs.

Save the evening of April 15 for a wonderful adult event to benefit Kids' Haven. Details to follow.

Stop by The Cavalier, on Rivermont Avenue, Sunday afternoon (2/14/10) for the annual Pool Tournamnet to benefit Kids' Haven. As Kids' Haven is all about love, both for the deceased and for one another among the survivors, this is an appropriate way to share Valentines' Day love!

Welcome to Harriet Whitten and Deborah Raessler who have joined the team of Group Night group leaders, to Mark Faulconer who has returned to the team, to Amanda McKenzie, an intern from Sweet Briar College, and to Jacquie Gibson who, with the Guidance staff there, has taken responsibility for a group at Sandusky Middle School. Michelle Sullivan also has trained and steps in as needed.

Thank you to Aeropostle for the donation of wonderfully soft teddy bears that were given to each Group Night participant for Valentines' Day. *************************************************
Kids' Haven has added "We Remember Them" note cards--a watercolor depiction of our closing circle--for internal use and also for sale. The cost is $8 for 10 cards with envelopes, and they are available at the Kids' Haven office, through board and staff members, or by calling the office at 434-845-4072.
Friends, at any time, may continue to purchase a block to be added to the Kids' Haven Honorary/Memorial Wall, located in the Kids' Haven office windows at 325 12th Street, Lynchburg, for a gift to Kids' Haven of $50 per block. Please provide full name of the person being honored, and include life dates for memorial blocks.
When next you are Downtown, come see the wall as it grows in our 12th Street windows.
The proceeds from these offerings are used to finance the operation of Kids' Haven support programs, all of which are offered at no cost to participants.
We still have a few hand-made swings for you and your children to enjoy. They also are $50. Come see them! Swings also are available at the Old City Cemetery Gift Shop.

At the end of January 2008, Kids' Haven and Hospice of the Hills began providing support services in a new partnership, Haven of the Hills, and Judi Harvey returned to Kids' Haven to choreograph this program. Haven of the Hills has been created in response to a community needs assessment to offer children and their family support when a life-limiting illness impacts their homes. Volunteers have been trained by both Kids' Haven and Hospice staff, and The Easley Charitable Trust and First Presbyterian Church have supported a significant upgrade of the Kids' Haven resource library in support of this new program. Referrals for Anticipatory Grief support may be made to Hospice (384-1387) or to Kids' Haven (845-4072).
A family is not required to be participating in Hospice to receive Haven support services. No fees are charged for Anticipatory Grief support services through Haven of the Hills.
