Members of the Central Virginia community provide invaluable volunteer service to Kids’ Haven in a variety of ways; call the Kids’ Haven office if you are interested in volunteering with this program.

OFFICE
There often are opportunities for volunteers to help in the Kids’ Haven office, to process mailings, maintain a scrapbook, or to prepare for regularly scheduled or special events.

PROGRAM
Group Night, in-school, and Haven of the Hills support programs are facilitated by volunteers who have been provided intense training in the unique needs of grieving children; because the success of group facilitation depends upon the creation of trusting relationships, these volunteers are asked to make a commitment of no less than one year. Many of Kids’ Haven’s volunteer facilitators have been with the program for several years.

Volunteer groups from the community—churches, neighborhoods, businesses, service organizations, board members, and participants themselves—donate, prepare, and serve Group Night suppers.

SPECIAL EVENTS
The success of Kids’ Haven special events is a direct result of many volunteer individuals and groups who plan and carry out specific features of those events.

An annual pumpkin sale, Kids for Kids’ Haven, is orchestrated each October as joint project of several area faith communities, schools, and their youth.
